You may, or may not, have heard of Web 2.0. It's the new 'breed' of website that allows interaction and communication, such as social networking. An example of which can be seen at www.myspace.com

This new technology can often be very popular (with the right websites) and with popularity comes the search engines. This means simple cost effective ways to help your search engine position is now easier.

Here are three easy but very effective ways to take advantage of Web 2.0 and how it can improve your search engine position:


1. Create a MySpace page:

Everyone can create a MySpace page. It's the chance to tell the World about you (and even your business). It should never be used as an advert, but is a great way to show off your professional knowledge and a general About Me page. This can include a link to your business website address. You may gain visitors from your MySpace page, but also useful for linkbacks.


2. Submit an Article to Digg.com

Digg.com is an article submission site with a main difference - it is very respected amognst the search engines. Visitors to Digg.com vote and rate the articles. The better your article the better people will vote, and the higher up the Digg.com search results you will appear. A good link from Digg.com has also shown to help build linkbacks and help search engine position.


3. Create an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) Feed

A little more technical this one but your web designer or developer can help (or we can if you would like to contact us). An RSS Feed is, in non technical terms, information that can be used to publish updated content. Visitors can subscribe to your 'feeds' through their 'feed reader'. The fresh articles keep Google and co happy and can help your search engine position.
